Just finished this LP/CD design for the debut full length by creepy Brit garage combo Thee Eviltones. The front cover was vaguely inspired by the giant demon in the classic 1957 horror epic Curse Of the Demon. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Secret Hideout

Just finished this sleeve art for the upcoming download-only compilation Noises From The Hideout. This is the 6th in a series of comps put together by the GaragePunk Hideout website and you can download the album there starting September 19. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

That's Cool, That's Trash

Here's the cover art for the upcoming LP by Argentinian one man band Trash Colapso. My idea for this one was to have it look like one of those weird, primitive religious albums you see in thrift stores. 'Cuz weird, primitive and religious are where it's at, Jack. Incidentally this is the first one man band I've done a sleeve for since the one I did for a Hasil Adkins record way back in 2001. More stuff comin' soon so... Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Back To The Jungle

Here's the cover art for Volume 2 of the Brazilian Nuggets series. These comps are gonna feature the wildest and most obscure rock'n'roll 45s to come outta the '60s scene in Brazil. Volume 1 is being pressed even as we speak (check the archives of this blog for the sleeve art of that) and this one should follow soon. Plans are for me to do the cover for Volume 3 as well. Zombies In My Garage Part 2

Here's the artwork for the new LP by French garage fiends The Mean Things. This one will be coming out very soon on hep German label Soundflat Records. The art is kind of a sequel to the drawing I did for their first album, which you can find elsewhere on this very blog. More stuff coming soon, so... Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Big Drag

Here's another unpublished oldie from the vintage vault. This was supposed to be a 7" sleeve for speed-crazed Spanish garage punk combo Los Ass Draggers featuring a track spun offa their debut LP Abbey Roadkill. Jorge from Dr. Explosion was gonna put this out on his Thunderpussy Records label but that fell through for some reason and later there was some talk about Crypt Records puttin' it out but that never happened either so it is now making its grand debut right here in the Rubber Room. More cryptic crud comin' at you real soon so... Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Trippin' Out

Here's an old drawing that I recently recycled into a poster for my friend Oscar (of well known Spanish rock'n'roll zine Kick Out The Jams fame) to use in promoting his garage rock radio show. The original black and white version of this drawing can be found in the archives of this blog if you care to dig around for it. Should have some new stuff for you in a couple of days. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

The Demon's Claws

My old buddy Brian, drummer with the Demon's Claws and a bunch of other happening Montreal combos, asked me to design this poster for the release party celebrating the new Claws LP The Defrosting Of Walt Disney. Kind of a different style for me but I'm pretty stoked about how it came out. Also on the bill for these two shows are rockabilly maniac Bloodshot Bill and Brian's punk rock side project Genital Hospital. I should have some more new stuff for you in the next few days so... Like, Long Hair

This one was drawn back in 1996 as the cover for a cool Italian zine called Mondo Capellone that covered '60s garage rock and related topics. The drawing is mostly based on the song "Riot On Sunset Strip" by The Standells with some references to the movie of the same name and various other mid-'60s long haired happenings. Coffin Nails

This lovable character is Smokin' Dick, subject of a song by Chicago's Goblins that appeared on a 7" flexidisc issued by Roctober magazine way back in 1995. There was some talk of building a Muppet-style Smokin' Dick puppet to help get the song's anti-smoking message across to the kids, but I don't know if that ever actually happened. Anyway this is to date the only flexidisc release to feature Merinuk artwork on the sleeve. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!

Screamin'

This screamin' alien was drawn back in 2001 as an ad for esteemed German label Screaming Apple Records. The final version had covers of various Screaming Apple releases in all those records the alien is holding, plus some text with info about them, but that version is on a CDR that won't open anymore so I guess you kids will have to make do with just the raw art. Stay tuned for MORE ACTION!
