New X-Men Video Game Lets You "Choose Your Destiny" [Trailer]

Here's what I think about the trailer: I like the concept of this game, just like X-Men: Schism. Free roaming and smashing type of game with the player having the freedom to choose the side he is on. But damn, the graphics (based on this video at least) looks HORRIBLE.

Its 2011 folks. 'Gotta make something better than this.

Just look at Batman: Arkham City.

Nostalgia Bytes: 'Max Payne 2' And Its Graphic Novel-Style of Storytelling

Just finished playing Max Payne 2 for the fucking "nth" time yesterday and I still found it so bad-ass after more than 5 years of not playing it.

The game which was made in 2003 - is known for its love & crime-noir storyline packed with a lot of gun-toting action that utilizes the concept of "Bullet Time", where you can slow things down ala Matrix, enabling players to dodge bullets and kill enemies before they could even fire back.

But its not only the feature that got players hooked on it:

A graphic novel scene from Max Payne 2
Max Payne 2 uses comic book panels accompanied with sounds and voice overs instead of animated sequences to tell its compelling storyline which was very unique at the time.

And here's a my favorite graphic novel scene from that game - featuring Max Payne and Mona Sax (the game's protagonists) - in a semi sex-scene that is still one of the most hottest game scenes EVER. (its on the 30-1 minute mark)

There's even a pretty nice half-boob showing from the model who portrays Mona. Her name? Kathy Tong (aka the Neutrogena model).

Mark Wahlberg & Mila Kunis will not be able to beat the HOTNESS meter of this scene.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll have beat the game again, Hard-Boiled style.

Nostalgia Bytes: Remembering Captain America's Final Justice

Back when I was addicted to the first Playstation, one of my favorite games was Marvel vs Capcom 2. The game has it all: you can get to build a team of all your favorite super-heroes and characters and pit it against the AI's (artificial intelligence) team or even better, play it against your friend's own and see who is better. Then you can talk trash everytime you win, which was always the best part (admit it).

I always used Captain America in every team that I had mainly because he is such a bad-ass character that has three of the best (arguably) moves in the game. There's the Hyper Charging Star (which is basically Cap charging behind a flaming shield), Stars and Stripes (which is a "Shoryuken"-type shield uppercut) and finally, my favorite super move of all: Final Justice - a move which can sometimes cheat a counter-team combo and the only move that can hurt a familiar Kryptonian. Seriously. Watch.

Remember Action Comics #900? Captain America didn't like that.

In short, Cap doesn't give a fuck. He doesn't play cute and he will kick your butt and ram your head to the floor until it explodes like a grenade. Plus, he always WINS the war for his team in the with the ultimate swag using Final Justice. Iron Man and Thor don't even come close. Here's an example:

                                                  Final Justice FTW!!!

Catwoman Scratches and Purrs In Her Own 'Batman: Arkham City' Trailer

I know that Batman: Arkham City is going to be a very good game, but you know what - I think it just got better with Catwoman available as a playable character.

Check her out below in the latest trailer where she shows her acrobatic and seducing skills in their "purr...fect" forms.

Damn. How are the kids going to finish their education if a game like this is out there?

The Weekend Recap - 03/20/11

I thought of doing this recap thing every week (that is if I had done a lot of things during my day-offs) where I would talk about the different things that I did and saw during the weekend... in short, just about anything under the sun - and I said to myself: "That would be a great idea for my blog!", since I don't have much time to write during work hours unlike before. So, without further ado, the first ever Comically Graphic Weekend Recap:

---

Tantananaaaaa!!!

This is not my dvd box, but I own one. Finally.

Bought an original DVD copy  of the DC Original Animated Series All-Star Superman based on the Eisner-winning graphic novel by writer Grant Morrison and artist Frank Quitely. The packaging is awesome, the dvd box art is simply stunning and its definitely worth adding to my Superman collection. Can't wait to watch it soon. The greatest story of Earth's Greatest Protector is finally in my hands. Bwahahaha! *evil smirk*

Anyone who has played a Bioware video game RPG like Dragon Age, Mass Effect or Star Wars KOTR is aware of how amazing it is to beat game and have the final boss kneeling before you asking for mercy. And what a great feeling it was beating Mephistopheles in critcally-acclaimed old school Bioware game NeverWinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark. Its like my d*ck just grew to 8 inches total. Haha. He was a piece of cake using my level 27 Fighter/Rogue/Blackguard who totally massacred him. I wish he was tougher.. But thank you Bioware for the experience. Great game. I'm gonna come back again with an arcane archer this time and hunt his ass one more time.

Watched "I Am Number Four" with my girlfriend yesterday and we both thought that it was a nice movie. If you are the type who doesn't want any of the complicated storylines and a lot of the boring "30 minute talk" scenes in some films and just want some good 'ol fashioned "come on let's get this over with and kick-some damn ass" action scenes with a lot of cool visual effects - then this is the movie for you.

The story is simple: John Smith is an alien from another planet (of course), his kind is being hunted down by the bad guys (three have already been killed and he is the 4th on the list - hence the movie title) who are also plotting a massive planatary- scale invasion and therefore, he has to control all of his new found powers, find his other alien friends and beat the ugly, baldheaded monsters to ashes before they kill him and the people he cares for.

During the first minutes of the movie, I immediately realized the similarities of the plot to Smallville - and not suprisingly because during the credits it was shown that the screenplay was written by the two former producers who started the ongoing Superman-based TV series - Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. And since the movie is produced by Transformers director Michael Bay, I Am Number Four packs some bad-ass sci-fi action scenes, CGI and special effects that you will surely enjoy despite the loopholes in the plot. Not a bad film overall in my opinion.

Had dinner with my former online friends (former because they had become my friends in real life now) and it was a blast. A whole night of good food and laughter. Its wonderful how the internet connects the dots in your life and adds more dots connected to your life - oh the power of teh Intarwebz.  LOL.

--

And finally, Happy 13th Month to me and my cuddly bear. We almost forgot it last night because we're just so damn tired. Yep, its 1 year and a month now and still going strong. Time goes by so fast.

So that's it for this week! Back to work now.

'Batman: Arkham City' Will Take Video-Game Badassery To A Whole New Level

OMG.

This has to be the GREATEST VIDEO-GAME EVER CREATED BY MANKIND. And it hasn't hit the stores yet.

No Readings.

It's been a pretty busy week and therefore I am not reading any comic books at the moment. So that's the reason why you don't see any comic book reviews lately, and to be honest I'm pretty tired reading nowadays. I just don't have the passion for it right now. I guess its because of the heavy work load that really requires some good 'ol super speed and level-12 intelligence. Or maybe not...

I was re-reading Watchmen a couple of weeks ago but for some reason I stopped after Book 6 and switched into playing a very very old school video game: Neverwinter Nights. This game eats a lot of my time and energy - hacking and slashing those skeletons, zombies, Gorgons and demons 'till their bones and blood splatter all over the place. And now, I'm really into it. I think I won't be reading comic books for a long time again, unless I get tired of killing monsters of course. Which I highly doubt will be soon.
